It saves you the painful hassles of hooking up your PC to your TV using an HDMI cable, which largely depends on the length of the cable. I would have loved to use my phone as a WiFi bridge but this doesn't seem possible. Once you set up your Google Chromecast device, you can play any content from your mobile device or desktop on your TV or remote monitor, with the device becoming a remote control. This works great if there is a website that is not C. I guess if you travel your usecase might be different. The Google Chromecast allows you to mirror almost whatever you see on your computer to be put on the TV.

In order to trick the network into letting your Chromecast join, you can spoof the MAC address of the Chromecast on your laptop or portable device and complete the authentication process on the Chromecast’s. I had to experiment while waiting for fiber to my home. During the Chromecast setup process the MAC address of the Chromecast is displayed in the lower corner of the Wi-Fi configuration screen. This kinda works but with quite poor frame rate and of course no higher resolution than your phone/device screen. I noticed that if you want to cast Netflix while offline (connected to phones WiFi but without data active on phone) you have to download the content and then cast your screen, you can't use the app for watching offline content. Open Chrome and click the Google Cast extension. Step 3: Cast your second display to Chromecast. You can drag & drop the displays to reorder them on this screen. Select the ‘Extend these displays’ option. Make sure you have the latest version of the Chrome browser installed 2. Click the dropdown that appears to cast a Chrome tab, cast your entire desktop. Once you have two displays set up, look for the ‘Multiple Displays’ option in the Display tab and open the drop-down. To connect to it from your laptop or PC: 1. Click the Chrome menu button and choose Cast from the list. Open Google Chrome on your PCyou’ll need it to mirror your screen. I guess the Chromecast can use the phones internet connection even during the setup. With Google’s Chromecast, however, you can mirror any browser tab or your entire desktopwirelesslyin just a few clicks. Don't remember how I did for the setup but I followed some guide out there. I've used my Chromecast via a hotspot from my Nexus 6p, sucked my data plan Clean like nothing else but it worked.
